Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 15, 2008
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information MyFirstWebsite collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you sign up we ask for your name, email address and a password. If you buy a Pro or Business plan, our payment processor collects your billing details; we don't store full credit card numbers on our servers.
Information we collect automatically
Like most websites, our servers record information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your settings. We use this information to run and improve the Service and to protect it from abuse.
Visitors to member websites
When someone visits a website built with MyFirstWebsite, we record basic visit information so we can show the site owner their visitor statistics. When a visitor leaves a comment or guestbook entry, we store the name they enter, their message and their IP address. We use the IP address to fight spam and abuse and, when the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests.
How we share information
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the Service (such as our payment processor and data center), when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members and the public.
We'll send you emails about your account and important changes to the Service. You can unsubscribe from our monthly newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of each newsletter.
Children
MyFirstWebsite is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
Log-ins and payments are protected with SSL encryption. No method of sending or storing data is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
